PubMed Central Primer and XML101

PubMed® comprises more than 30 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. To get journal articles indexed in PubMed, a journal must be selected as a MEDLINE journal or deposited to PubMed Central (PMC), which requires full-text JATS XML – and publishers only have three chances to successfully submit valid XML or their PMC application is declined.

This can be a confusing and intimidating process for some publishers and often raises questions like:

  • How does this process work?

  • What is JATS XML and how do I get it?

  • How do I make the most of the content I submit to PMC?

DCL specializes in the creation of XML and the submission of documents to PMC. This webinar provides a primer to demystify the process as well as illustrate why XML is a key building block not only for submission to PMC but also for an organization’s overall digital strategy.
